Last friday we finished our second graphics project in illustrator which was this spaceship. We made it by using a tutorial shown to us by our teacher, make a simple spaceship in illustrator. First I used the eclipse tool to make the body. Then I made a copy of the body sized it down and took out an anchor point to make the window. I made the fins by using copies of the body to cut out parts of squares. The gray exhaust pipe was made by using the rectangle tool and moving/ adding anchor points. The flames were made by using copies of the body to cut out parts of another part of the main copy and then sizing down one copy to fit inside the other one and changing the color. Tools I used
Eclipse tool, Delete/ add anchor point tools, rectangle tool, subtract shape area tool, intercept shape area tool, selection tools star tool.
I honestly had a hard time with this project. i think the hardest thing for me was finding my way around illustrator and understanding the tutorial. thankfully i had a friend who was great at this and helped me. it took me about three days for me to complete this project.
I would give myself about a 9/7 (participation/ product grade) because i tried very hard but i could not figure out how to ad the gradient or background. and some things like the exhaust pipe could be tweaked.
